Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic

Ballarat

CHS Broadbent are seeking a qualified diesel mechanic to fill a full-time position, and work across our modern fleet of Kenworth and Mack trucks, as well as earthmoving and agricultural machinery.

Based in our Ballarat workshop you’ll be working with some of the very best heavy vehicle diesel mechanics in the business, with an abundance of experience and knowledge to share. 

 

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all vehicles, trailers, plant and equipment are serviced and maintained within required timeframes 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to apprentices with respect to all aspects of the workshop and look for opportunities to provide further on the job training
  • Diagnostic and preventative maintenance
  • Attend to breakdowns (where required)
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including workplace health and safety
  • Ensure the maintenance records for fleet are accurate and up-to date

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses
  • Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (third or fourth year apprentice applications are also welcomed)

Tyre Fitter

Ballarat

CHS Broadbent are requiring a dynamic employee for our tyre fitting requirements which include:-

  • Fitting truck, machinery and passenger vehicle tyres
  • Ability to diagnose tyre wear and damage
  • Puncture repairs
  • Carry out general workshop duties
  • May also include vehicle detailing

Transport Coordinator

Ballarat

The Transport Coordinator schedules our fleet and supports the Chief Operating Officer and transport team to ensure administrative tasks are delegated and completed effectively by the team. This includes coordinating with drivers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods while complying with the Heavy Vehicle National Laws and relevant regulations.


To be successful in this position candidates must be able to communicate confidently and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to work under pressure and manage their workload during business hours and peak harvest season.


The role also involves tracking and documenting transportation activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities to improve operational performance. This may include monitoring and analyzing transportation costs and data to support continuous improvement.


Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR requirements and fatigue management is highly regarded

CHS Broadbent are seeking a detail focused and organised Grain Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing grain contracts, supporting trade execution activities and working closely with growers, customers, logistics and finance teams


About This Role

As a Grain Administrator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of grain contracts, maintaining accurate ticket and invoice records within company systems and related activities. You'll ensure contracts are managed accurately from creation through to completion while helping maintain smooth communication across the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage grain contracts from creation through to execution and contract amendments.
  • Reconcile purchase and sales contracts.
  • Process and maintain accurate ticket and invoice records within company systems.
  • Support additional administration and project tasks as required.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, logistics, and systems teams.
  • Communicate with growers and external customers.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
